  In relation to the media area you have studied, discuss the way that audience consumption had changed over time: Audience Consumption in the film industry has changed drastically over the years. This has been led mostly by the Big Five. The Big Five are the big Conglomerates of the film industry, they are the ‘parent’ companies who control the film media industry. These Conglomerates also have Subsidiaries, who are the smaller film companies that are acquired (bought) by the bigger conglomerates. The Big Five consists of Disney, Universal Pictures, Paramount, Warners Bros and Columbia. They are the Oligopolies of the film industry, meaning they have dominance and a monopoly in the film industry. Greys Anatomy Essay

This short film from  Greys Anatomy Shows the core representational groups of Ethnicity and Gender/Equality. Ethnicity is seen through the different ethnicity of Women who are standing in the hallway supporting the Patient. Gender and Equality is then shown when the man standing at the door stops the other man. We almost think that he has been stopped because he is black, but then when we carry on watching we realise that only women are in that area at the moment and so there is obviously a reason why the men can not go in and only women are in there.  Sound helps us as an audience gain a better audience gain a better understanding of the story line shown throughout the short clip, this is seen through the Non-diegetic and Diegetic sound. Hotel Babylon Essay

Hotel Babylon shows the core representational groups of ethnicity and class/status. Ethnicity is seen through the way that there are immigrants working in the Hotel Babylon. Class and status is then shown through the way that the men look down on the ethnic people. We see this contrast between the people in the hotel who hold dominance over the immigrants. Stuart Hall's reception theory is seen in this clip as there is an encoded message in which the audience decodes. When this message is sent, the audience realises and see’s that these immigrants are more than just illegal citizens, but that they have come to the UK for a fresh start and want to become a part of the society of the UK. But the immigration officers are trying to take away this hope, hence why the audience is  touched and provoked with emotions that feel for the illegal citizens. Although the trilogy of movies were all shot in Peter Jackson's home country New Zealand, the filming of the new Lord of the Rings series will take place in Scotland. This short clip taken from the TV series 'Riverdale' is a Teen Drama which shows the core media representation groups of class/status and age. The students in the short clip are  teenagers who attend a dramatic and complicated high school. In this film there is a major representation of Class and Status shown through many different aspects of the film. There is also a representation of age. In this short clip we see the contrast between the students who are humble and then we see the opposite students like Cheryl Blossom who likes to Dominate and almost overtake , who is also seen as wealthy and strong willed, linking to the way that she acts and behaves around the people who are less fortunate than her. This Short clip gives us as an audience a good view of High School stereotypes.  The sound heard in the Short film is a mixture of Diegetic and Non-Diegetic sound.
