This short film from  Greys Anatomy Shows the core representational groups of Ethnicity and Gender/Equality. Ethnicity is seen through the different ethnicity of Women who are standing in the hallway supporting the Patient. Gender and Equality is then shown when the man standing at the door stops the other man. We almost think that he has been stopped because he is black, but then when we carry on watching we realise that only women are in that area at the moment and so there is obviously a reason why the men can not go in and only women are in there.  Sound helps us as an audience gain a better audience gain a better understanding of the story line shown throughout the short clip, this is seen through the Non-diegetic and Diegetic sound. Hotel Babylon shows the core representational groups of ethnicity and class/status. Ethnicity is seen through the way that there are immigrants working in the Hotel Babylon. Class and status is then shown through the way that the men look down on the ethnic people. We see this contrast between the people in the hotel who hold dominance over the immigrants. Stuart Hall's reception theory is seen in this clip as there is an encoded message in which the audience decodes. When this message is sent, the audience realises and see’s that these immigrants are more than just illegal citizens, but that they have come to the UK for a fresh start and want to become a part of the society of the UK. But the immigration officers are trying to take away this hope, hence why the audience is  touched and provoked with emotions that feel for the illegal citizens. This short clip taken from the TV series 'Riverdale' is a Teen Drama which shows the core media representation groups of class/status and age. The students in the short clip are  teenagers who attend a dramatic and complicated high school. In this film there is a major representation of Class and Status shown through many different aspects of the film. There is also a representation of age. In this short clip we see the contrast between the students who are humble and then we see the opposite students like Cheryl Blossom who likes to Dominate and almost overtake , who is also seen as wealthy and strong willed, linking to the way that she acts and behaves around the people who are less fortunate than her. In this Short extract Women are being Represented as being Bold, Strong-willed, and Persistent. In this film we see a Lady named Carrie Mathison standing up for someone who is in a tough situation. With this we also see the Contrast between Men and Women, Men being seen as rough, aggressive and violent, and women seen as Carrie. Carrie is one of the Main Characters in this Short Extract, we see this through the eyes of the camera as it Quick cuts to different Shots of her also linking to how her voice is also the main dialogue heard as well. The clip 'breaking bad' uses all Four of the technical terms. In the film Breaking Bad there is a contrast between 'young' and 'old' we see this as the two main Characters are introduced into the film. The first being an old middle aged man and the second being a young man maybe in his early twenties. When we are first introduced to the old middle aged man, he is seen wearing black layered clothing with glasses on. His looks are 'rough' shown through his facials, hair and wrinkly skin. From personal Observation you could possibly stereotype him as a man who could (past tense) have been in prison before.   This Character is introduced to us in a Hardware Store, and is seen getting two cans of paint, which when you look closely, it looks like a normal setting but there is still a sense of uneasiness about the plot, as the man himself looks like an intense and stern man. In the short clip, extracted from the film ‘Downton Abbey’ contrasts wealth and status, throughout the clip, shown through the relationship between both the wealthy class, and the maids/workers. As an audience you can definitely tell who the wealthy class is, through the way they talk and order the maids around, in contrast you can tell who the maids are by the clothes they wear. There is also this sense of ‘status’ with the maids as well, in that there are some maids who have a slightly higher status than other maids. We can see this clearly through the eyes of the camera, with the way that the camera switches and cuts between the two types of status’. We can also see this through the types of clothes they wear, the wealthy wearing elegant clothing, and the maids wearing typical black and dull ‘working’ clothes, such as aprons and black dresses that look presentable in front of other people (costumes). In this short film, we have a lot of iconography shown from the Mise-en-scene in this extract, a major symbol of this iconography is the effect of the colors red and blue. In this Movie, the colors red and blue add great meaning to the film. Red symbolizes Jason Bourne's new identity' linking to the fact that Jason does not know anything about himself.
